“I have made a wonderful discovery. It meets many of the goals I am always singing about and praying for. This discovery is On the Move: God’s Grace from Place to Place.” CeCe further says, “My ministry is global and my longevity in the gospel music industry coupled with my love for the youth of this country has manifested itself through my work. Basket Weaving Craft Tips
Posted: February 5, 2009
On Session Two of On the Move VBS 2009, children participate in the basket weaving craft. The On the Move editor has passed along the following additional helpful hints for this craft:
1. The instructions in the Arts and Crafts Leader book do not give a specific amount of yarn or other material needed for the basket. The amount needed will vary depending upon the tightness of the weave desired and the material chosen, but at least 1 to 1.5 years is recommended for each basket.
2. As the basket is being made, the person should keep tension on the yarn as they weave to get a closer weave.
3. The plastic craft needle is essential in order to get a finished look to the top of the basket.

On the Move VBS 2009 Recommended Resource
Posted: September 26, 2008
Be sure to check out On the Road to Freedom: A Guided Tour of the Civil Rights Trail. This book is a recommended resource for any leader of On the Move Vacation Bible School. Written by award-winning journalist, Charles E. Cobb, Jr., it gives an in-depth look at the civil rights movement by going to the places where pioneers of the movement marched, sat-in at lunch counters, gathered in churches; where they spoke, taught, and organized; where they were arrested, where they lost their lives, and where they triumphed. Also, look for Charles Cobb on the video journey contained on the On the Move Instructional DVD.
